This course meets or exceeds the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. Basic life support (BLS) includes recognition of signs of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), heart attack, stroke and foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This class covers the basics of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, foreign body airway obstruction (Heimlich Maneuver) as set forth in the AHA 2005 guidelines. The course covers the same material as the American Heart “BLS for Healthcare Provider” and American Red Cross “CPR for the Professional Rescuer” classes.
